The Oct. 21 obituary of geriatric-care specialist Debra Levy omitted the names of her surviving children, Elliot Levy of Brooklyn and Shira Levy of Washington. We are reprinting the obituary to include that information.

Geriatric care specialist
Debra Levy, 59, the founder and president of a Washington area geriatric care management company, died Oct. 6 at Holy Cross Hospital in Silver Spring.
The cause of death was glioblastoma, a form of brain cancer, said her husband, Edward Levy.

She held positions with the National Association of Professional Geriatric Care Managers and was honored for her work in the field. She also recently served on the board of the University of Maryland School of Social Work.

Debra Gail Shalowitz was born in Baltimore and graduated from the University of Maryland in 1975. She received a master’s degree in social work and a master’s certificate in aging in 1983.
Mrs. Levy was a member of the Reform Temple Emanuel in Kensington.
Survivors include her husband of 33 years, Edward Levy of Silver Spring; two children, Elliot Levy of Brooklyn and Shira Levy of Washington; her mother, Florence Guggenheimer of North Bethesda; a brother, Robert Shalowitz of Wheeling, W.Va.; four stepsisters, Ellen Dagold of Columbia, Barbara Bolt of Seven Valleys, Pa., Janet Edrington of Baltimore and Mindy Smeal of Chinle, Ariz.; and a stepbrother, Charles M. Guggenheimer of Windsor, Pa.
